Chemical Engineer

The Chemical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing optimisation projects which are assigned to him/her and for improving productivity within the various pulp and paper departments. He/she will also participate in and manage groups dealing with problem solving and optimisation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Optimizes operational costs while respecting the budgets and minimizing the use of chemical products.
  • Improves chemical efficiency by organizing, preparing and following up on pulp and paper trials and by participating on committees devoted to chemical efficiency problem solving.
  • Contributes to the improvement of the quality of the paper by organizing follow-ups to opportunities and applying corrective measures.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 1 to 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment and will be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec. Knowledge Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project as well as MS Sweep is a necessity. A mastery of French (oral and written) is also a necessity; bilingualism would be considered an asset.
